The other day Ellen and I were sitting at a sidewalk cafe where we overheard two women behind us talk about the “horrors” of shopping for lingerie.

For the next ten minutes, or so, we quietly drank our beers while listening in to the misadventures of a lady who, she claimed, was unable to find a decent bra in her size. “And then you’ve got some tart poking you in private place,” the other chimed in. “Unbearable!”

We felt sorry for them. Really. After all, we really like shopping for lingerie. Granted, the experience may indeed be quite different for us — young, firm-breasted and well-shaped as we are — then it is for those who need to forsake pretty silk panties and sexy lace bras.

Actually, we don’t even mind the occasional personal touch — though we prefer it come from a hot girl rather than from “some tart.”

For us, shopping for lingerie is an adventure. I guess that’s due in large part to the fact that we are light-years away from having to shop for body-shaping foundations.

Instead, we are among those fortunate young women who can wear lingerie meant to be seen and admired. While we too, at times, need good support for our breasts, we love wearing anything from romantic to sexy lingerie — and beyond.

When it comes to shopping, we either do so in person or we shop for lingerie online. Online shopping is comfortable, easy and discrete. Most online shops have easy return policies should something not be to your liking.

When shopping in person keep the following tips in mind:

• Shop with a good friend
  Your friend will be more honest than the salesperson
• Wear comfortable clothes
  that are easy to put on and off. Same with shoes.
• Shop around
  Take the time to visit several lingerie stores
  Not only will you be able to compare prices, but often different stores use different ways of measuring your breasts. Go with the one whose suggested bra feels most comfortable.
• Wear your briefest pair of panties
  In some stores you can try on panties if you do so over your own pair. Don’t wear something bulky.
