You may think you know how to put on a corset but if you’ve never worn one before it can be tricky the first few times. In the beginning it may be better to have someone help you.
That’s according to the folks who run Itsy Bitsy Goth

.
- Loosen off the lacing then put the corset around you and fasten the front busk; do the top clasp first and the rest should follow.
- Gently pull the loops then tighten the lacing; it is best to start from the bottom then work your way to the middle then begin again at the top and work your down. This is better if its done by someone else as they can tighten the lacing much faster than you could on your own.
- To finish tie the loop ends in a bow at the back or front whichever you prefer.
The corset should ‘hug’ your body but it should still be comfortable. If it feels too tight or is uncomfortable then loosen off the lacing until you are used to wearing it then you can lace it tighter.
If you over tighten your corset then you will damage it. Corsets mould to your bodies shape after you have worn them a few times and the material is able to take the strain evenly then you can lace it a little tighter.
